Brief History-Lineage
    Constituted 13 January 1941 in the Regular Army as Company B, 2d Armored Regiment, an element of the 3d Armored Division. Activated 15 April 1941 at Camp Beauregard, Louisiana. Redesignated 8 May 1941 as Company B, 32d Armored Regiment. Transferred 26 June 1944 from 1st Battalion, 32d Armored Regiment to 2d Battalion, 32d Armored Regiment. Inactivated 10 November 1945 in Germany.

     Redesignated 7 July 1947 as Company D, 7th Tank Battalion. Activated 15 July 1947 at Fort Knox, Kentucky, as an element of the 3d Armored Division. Redesignated 30 July 1948 as Company D, 7th Medium Tank Battalion. Redesignated 15 March 1955 as Company D, 7th Tank Battalion.

     Reorganized and redesignated 15 February 1957 as Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2d Medium Tank Battalion, 32d Armor; concurrently, relieved from assignment to 3d Armored Division and assigned to 1st Armored Division (organic elements concurrently constituted and activated). Inactivated 23 December 1957 at Fort Polk, Louisiana. Relieved 12 March 1958 from assignment to 1st Armored Division. Activated 3 February 1962 in Germany and assigned to 3d Armored Division. Reorganized and Redesignated 1 October 1963 as 2d Battalion, 32d Armor.

     The Battalion was activated 3 February, 1962 at Kirch Goens ("The Rock") West Germany and assigned to the 3d Armored Division using personal and equipment from the 2d Battalion, 13th Cavalry.

     The Battalion served as part of the 1st Brigade, 3d Armored Division at Ayers Kaserne.

     1st Platoon, Bravo Company was deployed to Southwest Asia and served in Desert Storm while attached to Delta Company, 4-32 Armor with TF 5-5 Cavalry.

     The Battalion was deactivated October 1992 in Germany.
