Presidential Visits to the 3d Armored Division in Germany.

President Harry S. Truman, 33rd President of the the United States. On July 26, 1945 President Truman  visited the 3d Armored Division while on his trip to the Potsdam Conference. In the pictures are Brigadier General Doyle O. Hickey, CG of the 3d Armored Division and General Dwight D. Eisenhower, SHAEF Commander along with President Truman. These pictures were taken while the Division were staged at Neuisenberg, Germany.

             

    

President John F. Kennedy, 35th President of the United States. In June 1963 President Kennedy visited the 3d Armored Division on his way to one of his most famous speeches to the people of Berlin, Germany. He stated in his speech "All free men, wherever they may live, are citizens of Berlin and therefore, as a free man, I take pride in the words "Ich bin ein Berliner."

President Gerald R. Ford, the 38th President of the United States visited Germany in July of 1975. While there he made a visit to the Soldiers of  the 3d Armored Division.
