We followed another tank through the opening in the hedge row. As soon as we got through the assistant driver started screaming that there was a German tank just to our right side. I traversed the turret. But I could not see the German in the tangle of trees and brush. I looked and looked. The German tank fired and hit us right in the side by the assistant drivers position and killed him. I couldn't see the German.... I just couldn't see the German."
