Stationed in Gelnhausen for 2 yrs
Was stationed in Gelnhausen as part of the 2nd Platoon 503 MP Co
looking for someone who took their basic at Fort Knox in 57 May until approx. November My father was there at this time. Had some of the greatest times of my life while serving in Germany. Both with the Army and otherwise. One of the toughest was the month at Kirchgoens NCO Academy. What wild days they were. Who can ever forget that first trip to canal street in Amsterdam or to Kaiserstrauss in Frankfurt. Hit me back and I will follow up.
Changed my e-mail address.Trying to get a hold of Sam Zambrano Gary Broom Tony Luis or any of the guys that remember me.

I would just like to say that my grandfather was in this division during World War II and I am doing a project on The Battle of the Bulge. It is so interesting and as my grandfather has passed away I am so happy that I found this site and can learn about what happened during those times. By the way his name was Joseph Camacho. I would be very interested if any of you knew him! Alyssa M

I am seeking information on the history of the USNS Upsher for military service family members who were evacuated from Guantanamo Naval Base on the USNS Upsher during the Cuban Missile Crisis in October 1962. If you have any knowledge of the Upsher's history please reply.
What was the name of the Kaserne in Frankfurt in which you initially processed into 3AD. Believe it was a prison at one time. Remember running into a soldier who collected unit crests.
My dad Frederick James Fasham served from 1940-1945 in France Belgum and Germanay as a Tank repairman.
know where abouts of marcus powell
if anyone has pictures please send them over. Either way it would be great to hear from my brothers at arms. SPC Tapia (Medic)
Thank you for remembering my dad SSG Chiristopher Stephens I was looking up his information and found your website
Did anyone see the movie Ferris Bueller's Day off? He had a black beret with a 32th Armored Battalion Crest. We had berets made with a unit crest on them. but could never wear them because they were not approved by the DOA. How did Matthew Broderick get the idea of the Black Beret with the 32th Armor Battalion crest on it. I have the picture if anyone wants to e-mail me I will attach it back. I still have mine.
To all our veterans who have come before us and made the ultimate sacrifice may Almighty God bless you this Memorial Day.
Looking for section members
Hope to find some of my old running partners from "The Rock". Had some great times there. Anyone who served in Bravo Company 3-36 Infantry between 85 and 89 can email me at the above mentioned email address. Sure do miss the "Bub" (1SGT Tribble). He was mean as hell but I am thankful for the life lessons he taught me and for helping me grow up. If by some chance he reads this I would like to say "Thanks Bub!"
I was a FIST chief and battery maintenance officer. Lots of good memories of Graf with the morter ARTEPs and 3 32 Armor gunnery training.
I would love to hear from any one who served at fliegerhorst kaserne from 1987 to 1993 especially desert storm vets. email any time
Hi I would like to thank all of you for your service and look forward to hearing from you
Just found the site. Looking for anyone who served bt 86-88. Can't believe it's been almost 20 yrs.
my father was a sg j skaggs we were there in teh early seventies
I commanded the 503rd S & T for half of my tour and then became the Division G4 for the second half. An interesting time it was in the start-up days of the All Volunteer Army!
I was the community planner from 1982 to 1985. Working on MILCON projects we seldom get to see the finished proejcts as it takes about 5 years to get congressional funding. It's nice to see some photos of the "new" projects I worked on (motor pools barracks)
This is a wonderful site! Going through I found only one name (What a shame. We need to get the word out) that I recognize (Frank Dimuccio). If you recall me sir please contact me.
Hanau & Francois kaserne & the pizza joint right across the street & the walk to Pioneer & getting caught riding the bus without a pass & FDC and all my buddies. As happy as I was to get the heck out of dodge I'd do it all again! Oh yeah… and the um 'bar' down the street.
All for one!
If any of the people I served with in the Mortar Platoon want to look me up please do. I am still alive in Wisconsin. Calvin Rigsby cjrigs yahoo.com

[Guestbook manager comment: Mel, you must have reunions mixed up because the A3ADV reunion was never scheduled for Anderson. The Anderson (Indiana) reunion is for the 1/33 Armor Association.]
Enjoyed looking at the site will continue to review site for new information. It definitely brought back memories of the Soldiers I served with in C Co. 5th 18th Inf and our service in Desert Storm. I sincerely hope our current Soldiers keep up with their units during the coming years. Every individual will always be a Soldier their entire lives and enjoy knowing they have served their country. Thanks for the website.

Wasn't actually me as I was 9 when we moved to Butzbach. My Dad was Chaplain (CPT) Curtiss Karlstad. He was Assistant BDE Chaplain. Sam Sanford was I believe BDE chaplain. I have some great memories of biking back and forth between Roman Way and the Rock and Schloss. I remember COL Sullivan and LTC Giddings and CPT Moran's video collection which contained all the James bond movies and more. Dad actually died on active duty on the day of the 1984 Family Fair. My fun times as an Army brat ended then. I have some great memories of my time in Butzbach and sincerely wish they weren't cut short! Perhaps someone might recall that the Gym was actually dedicated to my Dad (named Karlstad Gynmasium) a couple of years before the base closed. We were flown over for the very nice ceremony and I won't ever forget that either. Best wishes to all. Didn't realize how many commas I use until I tried to submit this comment.
Served as a Redeye Team Chief in Gelnhausen 1977-1980. Retired on disablility in 1990. Have located SFC Charles Huebner the Stinger section leader and also Sgt Dan Plummer who went to OCS and made it to Major before getting out. We stay in touch often. Would love to hear from others from CSC!

Just a reminder the new 33rd Armor Coin is now in the store.
Best time of my life…..the greatest friends ever.
Hunting for anybody from the mighty 503rd MP Company in Frankfurt in the 1987-88 era. Ahhh the memories of long days on the gates and of course fighting crime and corruption in the Greater Frankfurt Area (except patrol 40-41 PX Warriors a.k.a. sleepytime patrol. The capability to start a 12-hour patrol and not seeing another American for those 12 hours except when you stop at the A5 Gas Station)you all know what I'm talking about! Shoot me an email & you could qualify for a FREE WHOPPER at the Frankfurt Burger King! (except it's gone and a new Polizei HQ complex is there now). SPEARHEAD!! Smittybo – Frankfurt P.D.

Enjoyed my stay in Army
I just heard they are shutting down Budingen Armstrong Kaserne. I too have a lot of memories some bad some good. The good memories are all the fun times we had in that castle town and its surrounding woods. We spent many a fun day walking through the woods and inside the castle walls. We would often stop at the Hole in the Wall for a quick brew and Schloslick??? and fries. I will return for a visit sometime in the future.

I have a picture from 1983 of Delta Company 23rd Engineer Bn. That has the complete unit standing in it. In the back ground is our equipment too. I beleave that you would like to have a copy of it for your site and that of the 3rd AD history. I have not seen on your site to date that shows a complete unit in it. Not like this one does. Because the CO wanted every swing richard in our unit that day to be in the picture. So TOP made sure of it. Also this picture is very clear and you can see the faces of all the soldiers in it too. I need to know how to mail a copy of it to you? These where great men that need to be remember for all times. For they did a lot over there to help keep america safe. By supporting all units in the 3rd AD. Please contact me about this as so as you can. Thank you.

Anyone remember an American Legion Club across the street from Hesson Homberg Kasern? I believe it was in the red brick kasern or a building on Lamboy Strass. How about the catwalk across the side street to the snackbar and small px on the second floor of that kasern? Tried to see the old place by looking at satalite and google maps but cannot place anything. The old DP camp must of been torn down years ago and Hesson Homberg looks as if it is a big condo unit now.Anyone can shed light on this stuff reply here or in the members forum.I have pics posted in the 23rd eng bn website also there are more from the mid 60 to mid Does anyone remember a range 46 at Graf? I tried to donate blood with the red cross last month. I was told that I am not eligible. I had donated while I was in the army and after returning from active duty. The red cross has new guidelines that prohibit me and probably alot of you from donating blood. I talked to my doctors office and they contacted the red cross about the problem. The red cross states that the military purchased higher risk beef for us than the civilian population purchased for people living in europe. The disease is called creutzfeldt jakob disease variant. there is no test at this time to determine if we have been infected.
I just answered a member's question about this posting here in the guestbook concerning Red Cross rules for blood donations as they relate to "Mad Cow Disease". The posting is factual, but not complete, and here is an excerpt from the Red Cross rules:
In-Depth Discussion of Variant Creutzfeld-Jacob Disease and Blood Donation
In some parts of the world, cattle can get an infectious, fatal brain disease called Mad Cow Disease. In these same locations, humans have started to get a new disease called variant Creutzfeld-Jacob Disease (vCJD) which is also a fatal brain disease. Scientists believe that vCJD is Mad Cow Disease that has somehow transferred to humans, possibly through the food chain.
There is now evidence from a small number of case reports involving patients and laboratory animal studies that vCJD can be transmitted through transfusion. There is no test for vCJD in humans that could be used to screen blood donors and to protect the blood supply. This means that blood programs must take special precautions to keep vCJD out of the blood supply by avoiding collections from those who have been where this disease is found.
At this time, the American Red Cross donor eligibility rules related to vCJD are as follows:
You are not eligible to donate if
From January 1, 1980, to present, you had a blood transfusion in any country(ies) in the (UK). The UK includes any of the countries listed below.
You were a member of the of the U.S. military, a civilian military employee, or a dependent of a member of the U.S. military who spent a total time of 6 months on or associated with a military base in any of the following areas during the specified time frames
You spent (visited or lived) a cumulative time of 5 years or more from January 1, 1980, to present, in any combination of country(ies) in Europe, including:
