Hello to all 3AD folks. I was a friend with a SP/4 Jay Salyers from Iowa while at the Rock, 1963-1967. I don't remember which unit he was in. Does anyone out there remember him? I thought I read where he was ran over by a M-113 near the dental clinic as he was leading it on foot. I can't confirm this. Can someone help? Thanks to all.

I was at Schloss Kaserne in Butzbach, 1rst Battalion, 3rd Field Artillery, Bravo Battery from 1982-1984. Drove an M109A2, remember lots of good times. Eating Suflaki's on the way back to post! Drinking Licher and flaming shots! Made it to PFC then back to PVT then up to SP4 in 2 years. Saw the boarhogs in Graf, explored the ruins in Graf, emissary to East Berlin for a day, snuck in a bunch of east german marks, partied in Alexanderplatz before the wall came down. Loved the field and off post, sucked at wall locker inspections. Had a 1.5 size bed because of my height, got it taken away for being too hung over a few times.

I found your site while searching the web for information on a PVT. Max Wine. He served during WW2 with 23rd Engineering Battalion, I found a note from him to his wife dated April 28th 1945 in the palm grips of a P-08 Luger I added to my collection. I was curious if anybody knew his story or had a picture of him.
