SEARCH THE SITE
Enter a name, unit, or other key word(s) to search the 3d Armored Division
website. For better results, consider some of the following tips:
- For units, enter only the number. An example would be
"122" for the 122d Ordnance or Maintenance Battalion. Also
note that this site generally uses the current military system of numbering
units. That means "d" is used instead of "nd" and
"rd" (2d vs. 2nd, and 3d vs. 3rd).
- For individuals, try entering only the last name.
- Use fewer words initially. If you find that the search has too
many results, then enter additional words to narrow the search.
- Most important: keep your search initially simple. If you are
looking for "Brian Hatheway", try searching for "Hatheway" instead of the full
name. If you are looking for "A Co. 1-36 Infantry", try first to search
for "36 infantry". You will probably find that overly specific search
phrases will result in few or no hits, yet what you are looking for may still
be hiding somewhere on the website. Always search from the general to
the specific. If you get too many hits, be a bit more specific. If
you don't get any hits, be a bit more general in search phrase.
