Spearheaders!  We are having a reunion!

Yes, you heard it right. The reunion is definitely a "go" and we'll be gathering November 3-6, 2022 in Old Alexandria, VA as planned.

The reunion hotel, Old Town Sheraton Suites, is in the scenic part of Old Town with a reunion rate of $139/night plus taxes and service fees.  The hotel has graciously extended the date for room reservations.  Reunion cost is $450/person as previously announced and includes meals, beverages, admissions, weatherproof jacket and reunion "goodie bag."

Here's what to do if you want to attend, but don't delay!

First, register for the reunion by clicking on the Register Now link below so we can ensure that your specially-designed jacket size is reserved. Your timely registration also affords us the opportunity to make the necessary arrangements for an accurate number of attendees.

Second, make your hotel reservations by OCTOBER 14.  Reserve your room online here. Please note that if you want to add up to three days prior or three days after the reunion dates at the special $139 rate, you must call the hotel direct at 703.836.4700 . After October 14, the hotel will neither guarantee the availability of a room nor guarantee you the group rate.

If you have any problems in either the reunion or hotel registration process, call one of the following at the numbers shown for assistance: Don Davis at 770.367.9507 or Everett Spencer at 469.383.2392.

WHAT'S IN IT FOR ME THIS YEAR?

As previously reported, this will be a very special reunion given the two-year hiatus caused by the pandemic.  We have a number of special events planned including trips to the new US Army museum, Arlington National Cemetery, and the Women in Military Service to America Museum.

Our guest speakers include Spearheaders who served in all eras from WWII, to the Cold War, to Desert Storm. You will meet and mingle with Medal of Honor recipients, Military Attachés from WWII and NATO allies, and other dignitaries who served with units of historical significance like the WWII  WASPS.

We will also pay tribute to our fallen both at the US Army museum and at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Finally, we will also have a special dedication ceremony and unveiling of a portrait of SSG Lani Tucker at the Women in Military Service to America Museum, where her portrait will be enshrined in the Changing Faces of Courage.

Like many of you, I recently learned of the passing of a legendary and beloved WW2 Spearheader, Clarence Smoyer.  The  wreath laying at the Tomb will be especially poignant, as they always are, as we will be remembering Clarence and mourning his recent loss.

Spearhead family, I ask you to make every effort to attend this reunion.  To me, it marks a time of renewal and optimism for the future of our Association with the mission of preserving the history and memories of our proud Division.

We will rally on November 3-6.  I hope to see you there.

Spearhead!
