Butzbach Area
Butzbach, home of Schloß Kaserne and Romanway Housing Area, is a town with history back to the Roman Empire. This beautiful and historic town sits about 50km north of Frankfurt on Autobahn 5. Butzbach was also the nearest large town to Ayers Kaserne, and many troops and their families lived in Romanway Housing Area within Butzbach. Although no troops are stationed at either Ayers or Schloß Kasernen now, Romanway is still in use as a U.S. housing area (as of the summer of 1999).
