Was their when Gen. Abrams Comm the the Div. He had a meeting with the NCO`s and told us that if you had a break down if it was due to the lack of first echelon maint when his team drove up pull of your stripes you were no longer a NCO. Break downs dropped by 40 percent.

This is a great web site. Never knew it existed. Would love to hear from anyone that was with the 2-3 FA during Desert Storm. I was in Charlie Battery. Regarding your Ayers Kaserne site. I served as Commander 1st Brigade 1st AD at Ayers from 1995 to 1997. I was the last brigade commander at Ayers. I gave up command on 5 June 1997. Ayers closed soon after. We drew down per USAREUR restationing plan issued in the fall of 1997. Served there twice--served in 3-33 Ar there from 74 to 77.

I just returned from Budingen in January, Me and my wife celebrated our 25 wedding anniversary. I really pity the soldiers life in Budingen now, there is nothing that I could see for the so geared toward the soldier or his family.

It is now more like a remote site and the closest place to get anything done is Hanau. Budingen itself has switched over to tourism and offers nothing for entertainment, once again Go to Hanau !

Thanks for serving Guys, keep up the great work, I hope the dont close the place in the next couple of years, but, it may be in your best interest.

I remember our C-141 touching down down on the cold dark morning that would begin the first day of the rest of my life. I served as a support mechanic on AH 1F cobras with the 503rd then we bacame the 2nd 227th AHB at which time I was transfered to B co of 2nd 227th AHB. I was sad to learn that the records of the Spearhead Assoc were lost. I was signed up as a lifetime member at that time. Did anyone attend the 3rd Armored Division German Language School at the Education Center near the back gate from 1961 to 1964 at the ROCK I was one of the full time instructors there along with PFC Busch, Pfc Poehl and Spec4 Nippa. How about the CCA Soccer team in 1960-61?Best time of my life even with Graf, Hoehenfels and Fulda-Bad Hersfeld near the border.The 3rd was the best outfit in all of 7th Army, no doubt about it. Hi all, Great site! Unfortunately it does not seem to be a help for me as I am searching for my grandfather. Perhaps you have an idea where else I could search? The only information I have about my grandpa is that his name is Joseph Miller. He must have been based at Hanau between 1956 - 1958. My mom was born in 1957 and then adopted out. That is all we know about our roots - definitely not enough to be happy with it. It would really be incredible if you could help me with any information! Thanks a lot in advance!!!

I retired in nineteen ninety six with twenty years on active duty The army is so desperate for people that after nines years retired they needed my services I am assigned to a Medical Holdover Unit at Fort Jackson South Carolina The reason I am writing this is because during some training given by the good folks at HRC on awards and decorations I asked about the Valerous Unit Award that this web site talks about I was directed to the HRC web site and was shown the official entry third armored division The award is real and I wear it proudly If anyone needs to see the actual or official entry I can try to find the link or you can ask your personnel folks if on active duty If not I can try to find it again

I was a MEDEVAC pilot for your division during Desert Storm. I am looking for the Chaplain who was at Victory at the end of the ground war. I brought 2 deceased soldiers there one Female and one Male. Both were killed by a land mine. I think they were from the 2 ACR.
