His name is Tom Flannigan and was a platoon sergeant of a tank platoon with the 3rd Armored Division Station in Germany. Jan 4th of 1991 He was deployed to Operation Desert Storm. He served during WW2 with 23rd Engineering Battalion, I found a note from him to his wife dated April 28th 1945 in the palm grips of a P-08 Luger I added to my collection. I was curious if anybody knew his story or had a picture of him.

wrote on August 27, 2016 at 20:59: I served in the HQs S3 from 1983 to 1985. I went on to finishing my enlistment at Fort Polk, Then joined the Arizona National Guard band, later to retire in 2015 as a platoon sergeant.

For this purpose a comprehensive illustrated book will be published with numerous contributions. We are now looking for American soldiers stationed a few years in the Armstrong Barracks, who want to talk about their time in Büdingen or have got photos of that time. I have kept in contact with very few of my brothers from that time but am glad to see the page here. Believe it or not, after the gulf war and then pcs to Ft Carson, I went to the reserves in 1993, and back to Active duty in 2006, with a few more deployments to Iraq and now stationed at JBLM WA. FT LEWIS. Because of the reserve time, im three years shy of finally retiring. “SPARTANS STILL KILL TANKS”

Held records for HHQ, HHQ Discom, 503rd MP Co, 503rd Finance Co., and several others I can’t remember. Oh yes, the Medical Dispensary. Might have had records for 503rd Admin. Co. Made Spec.5 in less than 2 years and was awarded the GCDMDL, and ARCOM upon leaving Germany.

Initially housed at Pioneer Kas., when Col Hickok arrived we were all moved to Fleigerhorst Kasc. I am soon to be 84 and have many pictures and stories of those times.
