I was a wheel and track mechanic (63H20). I received an injury while working on a deuce and half transmission. I was not compensated for the injury at that time or at discharge. The tranny fell on my legs severely bruising them but was not X rayed for broken bones. But I have had problems with my knees since then and have filed for compensation and fighting the V A since 1980. I am looking for anyone who may have served with me at that time and may remember that incident. there was a man from Knoxville, I think his name was Edwards but I cannot remember his first name. The accident happened 07/74, my helper at the time was a Stacie Gillepie. My Platoon Sgt was Sgt Abercrombie. If anyone knows or can remember anything about that incident, please contact me at my email address: js1118@charter.net Thank You for your help and service to our country!

Service: Cold War | Years: 1955-1958 | Unit: 33d Tank Bn | Company, Battery or Troop: Baker (Bravo) Company | Other: | Comment: I joined the division as an enlistee when they activated and shipped to Germany in the Gyroscope era. I was the radio repairman for the company and later the Commo Chief. I was there with “Whiskey Joe Langston” as Bn. CO. Cpt. Brad Sweeney was B Co. commander- a fine leader and the best map guy I ever saw. We were CCB back then, commanded by Col. Murdoch. I took a break from the army for some college and reenlisted to stay for a total of 32 years, retiring in 1987 to Georgia. My time as a Spearheader was wonderful and of all the unity in which I served, my cap is adorned with the 3d AD patch!
