This page contains downloads for two Adobe Acrobat files that will give you the basic documents you need to have your Officer Record Brief (ORB) or DA Form 2-1 updated: the initial memorandum authorizing the award and excerpts from the Department of the Army General Order (DAGO) announcing the award. Either document should be sufficient, but it is good to have both in your records.  We have placed these documents on this website in Adobe Acrobat format. You can download them and then view and print them using the free Adobe Acrobat Reader.

File No. 1 - vua1.pdf - (253 KB) The original memorandum from the U.S. Total Army Personnel Command authorizing the Valorous Unit Award to the 1st Brigade, 3d Armored Division (dated 5 March 1996).

File No. 2 - go14_apr97.pdf - (804 KB) - Pages 1, 35, 36, and 37 of Department of the Army General Order No. 14 (dated 11 April 1997). This is the "official" Army announcement of the award. This download covers all 3AD units receiving a unit award on this order.  Note that not all 3AD units appear to have received a unit award.  Also note that this is a long download - please be patient:  it may take several minutes.
