"Shortly prior to our mobilization, I visited the message board for the
web site of syndicated radio personality Glenn Beck, and made a request
that while we were away from our families, those who might be interested
should seek out ways to support our families.
In response to that request, your organization’s Secretary, Steven R.
Depuy, made the generous and kind offer on the behalf of your
organization to adopt our unit and to provide basic hygiene and comfort
items, via the “card system” that you have used in the past, and cards
were sent to us at Fort Hood. We have a supply of these cards in
possession at our unit, waiting for our actual deployment to be
distributed.
We are very grateful for this tangible show of support for our service;
and it means even more coming from fellow veterans. Many of the men in
our unit are veterans, who decided to join the Texas Army National Guard
in the time after “9-11” – so we know what it is like to be in your
shoes, just as you know what it is like to be in our shoes."

"Received an email from Sean today. Well, I need to correct one thing,
he is not from Texas; his unit is from Texas. He was born and raised on
Long Island, NY, so he is a local as far as I am concerned. He stated he
and his buddies enjoyed the snacks and hygiene items that were sent to
them. He thanked me the the 3rd Armored Division Veterans who are
supporting him."

"Received a letter from
Kathy she said, "Wanted to thank you for sending me packages, it`s very
generous and much appreciated. You always send me what I need and that
is awesome. I just thought I`d let you know it means a lot knowing
people care."
|
"Received an email from CPT John Murphy, thanking us for our support. He
stated," I can`t tell you how much we appreciate the snack items and
juice boxes that we have received. It is difficult for some of our folks
out here, out of the 13 people assigned to this unit, only the LTC and
myself have been deployed before, so your packages and support have been
a true morale boost to the younger soldiers who see that an organization
like the A3ADV cares about them. For that, I will personally be forever
grateful".

"Thank you for all your
support and generous gifts that you have donated to the soldiers and
patients here at the 31st Combat Support Hospital in Baghdad, Iraq. We
receive most of the wounded soldiers (Marines, Army and Coalition
soldiers) from throughout Iraq. We also treat Iraqi civilians injured
in action.
Our mission, which is to conserve the fighting strength, is one of the
most important missions in the Middle East. When we receive wounded
soldiers, they generally arrive without any of their possessions or
comforts of home. The food, clothing and other gifts sent by you and
others are appreciated by all of our patients and staff. I can not even
begin to express to you our thanks for the time and efforts that you
have put into sending us care packages.
Morale among our patients is high, and I would like to thank you for
helping us keep spirts up. These soldiers may be heroes to you, but you
are angels to them."

"Received an email from CSM
Offord, he received the toothpaste. He stated " The Soldiers were really
thankful to know that we have the support of the American people back
home! God Bless you and God Bless America!"
